- Growing up in Laurel and Clinton, Mississippi. Lance showed a love of music from an early age. " I grew up singing in church and I always loved singing" he told.
- Lance grew up listening to country and western music, and though he has grown to like other styles like R&B and pop, his cd collection still includes some of his childhood heroes, Like Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire and Vince Gill.
- Lance joined the school chorus when he was 12 and , just a year later, he won a spot with the coveted Mississippi show stoppers statewide chorus.
- In high school, Lance began taking singing lessons. Not only did this help him improve his talent, but it led him to meet Justin Timberlake. As fate would have it, the two aspiring singers shared the same vocal coach.
