- Growing up, Joey was constantly surrounded by music. " My parents listented to a alot of older 50's music and that's what first influenced me" Joey told. "My sister and I were always singing around the house and being loud."
- Joey and his family moved to Orlando, Florida, when he was 13. Through his high school, Dr. Phillips and local auditions, Joey bacame acquainted with other young, aspiring celebrities- including future actors and members of *N Sync and the girl group Innosense.
- As a teen, Joey searched for outlets for his enthusiasm and creative talents. " In high school, when I tried to do musicals, that's when I pretty much got involved with dancing," he told. " I took a lil bit of jazz, a little ballet, I tried to do to tap, but....." Upon graduating high school, Joey joined an a capella singing group.
